About Me
It can be very scary to finally reach out to get the support you or your child may need. You've taken the first step and we can work together on all the rest. I believe that you know you best, so I walk alongside you or your child, focusing on goals and solutions to get you to where you'd like to be. I offer in-office, tele-health or eco-therapy (walking outside) sessions.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who specializes in working with children, teens and young adults and have been doing so for the last 11 years. I also work with adults who find themselves stuck in life, dealing with toxic-stress, anxiety, depression or who would like to improve their daily life and relationships and get to know themselves on a deeper level.
I utilize a variety of modules, including EMDR, CBT, ACT, IFS and a solution-focused, strengths-based style to help guide us to the next step in getting you past your stuck points. I also enjoy bringing the expressive arts, movement and mindfulness, and explore how our values and beliefs affect our thought patterns. If working with your child, we will explore how emotional awareness and regulation, using age-appropriate tools/visuals, can help your family move forward with healthier communication habits, build coping toolboxes and help you to foster stronger, more trusting, relationships.
Some of my passions include exploring values and connecting them with our authentic self, as authenticity is one of my own prioritized values! I love working with kids and making a connection that helps a child understand that they are worthy and loved. Making therapy "fun" is also a priority. Awareness and intentional change can be hard, but there's no need for us to take life too seriously.
I am certified in Trauma-Informed Yoga for Youth and Mindfulness and have a large background in dance and movement. I also have experience working in the school setting, helping children flourish in their community. All of this combined with my background in outdoor instruction and adventure-based work allows us to think outside the box and connect back to nature in sessions.
Lastly, my interests in perfectionism, shame, self-compassion and connection to ourselves are driving some of my future training and I'm excited to bring what I learn to session to help anyone look at their own relationship to these concepts.
I appreciate where all people come from and strive to connect your present circumstances to your past experiences, which have shaped you into who you are; a beautiful and worthy human being, capable of feeling better, stronger, healthier and happier. I typically am pretty full, but things do change, so email me to set up a chat to see if this connection is the one for you or your family.
