A connection that's right for you

See below for more information on different types of therapies I specialize in.

Individual Therapy

One on one counseling sessions using a variety of techniques to find the right tools that fit the person or situation. Goals and solutions are focused on in a collaborative, compassionate and supportive space.

Supportive Sessions

I strongly encourage the participation of parents and caregivers to join in their child's individual sessions at times. That said, confidentiality is of utmost importance to the therapeutic relationship, and I will honor this with your child or adolescent, unless significant safety concerns exist. Supportive Sessions will be YOUTH-CENTRIC where the child and I will make a plan for what will be discussed and support to the child is priority. These sessions can give a parent(s) a chance to have an open space for positive family communication and awareness of barriers that may inhibit the child's growth.

(If parents need therapy themselves, I will recommend that they explore options to get individual or couples therapy with a different therapist. Family therapy would also be another option and should be done with a professional Family Therapist. I can still provide individual therapy to children and consult with the family therapist, when a release of information is completed.) I can meet with parents, without the child, in special cases, as needed.

Training in EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.  More on this therapuetic modality can be found here.

Informed in Internal Family Systems

Frequently used as an evidence-based psychotherapy, helping people heal by accessing and healing their protective and wounded inner parts. IFS® creates inner and outer connectedness by helping people first access their Self and, from that core, come to understand and heal their parts.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a modified type of cognitive behavioral therapy. Its main goals are to teach people how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate their emotions, and improve their relationships with others.

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

An evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents impacted by trauma and their parents or caregivers, most effective when supportive adults are involved in treatment and willing to be coached in supporting the client with skills to use at home. CBT also addresses unhelpful thoughts, feelings and behavioral patterns. It helps manage problems by changing the way you think and behave, often used for treatment of depression and anxiety.

Expressive Arts

Expressive arts can be helpful in supporting younger children who may not have the right words to explain how they feel. It is also a great tool for anyone who may like to use the creative process to promote self-discovery and self-expression, along with emotional growth and understanding.

Rates

Initial and continued sessions are at $100/hr-$165hr. Many sessions are on average 48-53 minutes long.

I accept cash, check, and credit cards (including HSA/FSA cards) and payments must be made at the time services are provided.
